This teambuilding event offers a peek behind-the-scenes, tastings and an interactive winemaking experience, participants will also have the opportunity to blend, bottle and label their own wine to take home with them.
After lunch, a coach and a private wine guide will meet the group at the hotel for a short drive to the world-renowned Barossa Valley. The Barossa has the World’s oldest Shiraz vineyards, some dating back to the 1840’s. Perfectly suited to the regions climate and soil, they produce incredibly complex wines, rich and full-bodied but with soft tannins. Barossa Shiraz has made an undeniable mark on the international wine scene as one of Australia’s classic wine styles.
First stop is a visit to Bethany and Mengler’s Hill Lookout before moving onto Angaston for a private wine tasting at the Saltram of Barossa winery. The group will enjoy the Dolan’s Trail – Story Tasting plus Saltram No 1 Shiraz and the award winning Eighth Maker Shiraz.
Next stop is Penfolds Barossa Valley Winery. Here it is time for some hands-on fun with an interactive winemaking experience where participants will get the chance to don the lab coat, and with assistance from the Winemaker, blend their own wine. It’s then time for a look behind the scenes before enjoying some wine tastings and moving on.
From here the experience continues via the historic towns of Tanunda and Lyndoch, through the picturesque gum-studded Adelaide Hills to the Penfolds Magill Estate for a personalized twilight tour of the winery. Participants will be swept off their feet by beautiful views over the vineyards and city lights of Adelaide from Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant. Its here that a delicious 5-course palate-tempting Degustation dinner with the Super Premium Wine matching as recommended by the chef (which includes a taste of famous Penfolds Grange) in one of South Australia’s most awarded restaurants will be enjoyed.
After dinner and having experienced the very best that the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills have to offer the group transfers back to the hotel.
Entertainment can be organised at the restaurant over dinner and times are flexible.
