Let the games begin.....Teams of 5 distinguished by their colourful head attire will make their way around Green Island competing in some of the wackiest beach games ever.

Scattered throughout the Island and beach area, there will be 7 challenges to be complete, each station endowing a Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal to those deserving.  Each station will have 4 teams vying for the priceless medallions, and at the end of the Heptathlon, those with the most Gold, Silver and Bronze combined will be crowned the Green Island Games Champion.

Heptathlon Events

Coconut Rampage – A twist on the classic arcade game, teams will be given a pile of coconuts, which they must successfully roll up a ramp and into the baskets beyond. Each basket will have a score value, and the team that records the highest score in the given time will win.

Hula Hurling - Participants will take it in turns to throw a single Hula Hoop into their designated baby pool, some distance away. Gold to the team that executes the manoeuvre the most successfully in the given time.

Crocodile Shuffle – Far North Queensland’s version of tunnel ball.  An inflatable crocodile will be passed under participants legs and then will need to be “death rolled” back to the front of the line, where they will repeat the process. The team that wrestles the crocodile the most in the designated time will take victory.

Pieces of the puzzle – Teams will need to unearth 4 different puzzles from a pile of sand. They then must put together all 4 puzzles. The team that uses their intellectual skills at puzzle constructing will be bathed in gold.

Coconut Hockey – Using a Kayak paddle each team member must hit 2 coconuts towards their designated goal, once both coconuts have been successfully netted they will run the nuts back to their teams starting line, and line up for goal again. Don’t be deceived, these coconuts do not like to roll straight. Goals for Gold.

CAN you do it - Individually contestants must transfer two stacks of soft drink cans. In one hand the contestant will hold three red cans that are full of liquid. In the other hand they will hold three blue cans that are empty. They will have to switch the stacks of cans without putting the cans down or using their body at any time. Teams that CAN do it the most amount of time will be crowned.

Gone Fishing – In pairs, team members must kayak out to their designate buoy, and go fishing by pulling up a string with a fish attached to the end. As part of the fisheries rule, only one fish must be taken back to shore per journey. The biggest catch wins.
