King of the Castle
Imagine… you are on top of the world… well the world of Townsville… Castle Hill Lookout, boasting 350 degree views of Magnetic Island, Townsville CBD, beaches and stunning mountain ranges.
As the coach ascends the windy mountainside, strange characters appear along the roadside. Wagons hauling goods, Peasants with their wares, Jokers with their trickery, all heading in the same direction…. The feast at the castle. As we near the top the coach is halted by Knights, who board the coach and announce that they are the armed guard that will lead you, the guests of the King, through the castle gates and into the festivities.
The palace gardens are alight with flame, colour and entertainment. Court Jesters playing the fool, Clairvoyants reading the future, Fiddlers fiddling, Knights jousting and Puppetry shows for all to enjoy. Palace wait staff roam the garden with succulent delights, and of course plenty of the regions finest beer and wine.
Horns are blown before the Heralder announces that dinner will be served. Long tables are adorned with the finest velvet cloths, pure gold overlays and flaming candelabras.
A banquet served with the lands premium poultry, cattle and swine, straight off the spit is generously placed on the table with an array of vegetables and condiments. A feast fit for a King.
Once again the horns herald the crowd into silence for the arrival of the King. Flanked by his Knights, the King takes to the stage, welcomes his guests and breaks into song!!! The King and his knights are tonight’s entertainment, getting this soirée truly started, with hits from the times. So dance the night away, drink fine wine, be entertained by Jesters, get your Tarots read, do whatever you please as you are guests of the king and this is your night!!
