On the Catwalk, on the Catwalk…yeah!
Published: 21/02/2011 by Event Planners Network
Groups of 6 to 8 participants will work best for this activity. Ideally your venue will have room enough for teams to break away and find some privacy.
The task today is for the teams to work together to create a fashion masterpiece out of newspaper. Each team will receive a box of supplies including newspapers, paint, ribbon, scissors, tape, pins, pens, paper, make up, wigs and jewellery.
The first challenge is for the teams to decide who will be the model. Once this decision has been made then it all hands on deck for the design and construction as teams need to sketch, paint, cut, crumple, bunch, roll, pin and tape the costume.
The teams will have approximately 1.5 hours to complete the piece as well as complete hair and make up of the model ready for the runway.
So the fashion parade begins, with a lot of laughs and no doubt a few wardrobe malfunctions the models strut their stuff down the runway to the applause of their team members.
The entire audience will be the judges with delegates scoring the designs as they come down the runway. Simple scoresheets with a score of 0-5 for each model’s walk, the overall creativity of the costume, the construction of the costume and the hair & make up of the model will be distributed to the judges and the winner announced over a cold beverage after the scoresheets have been tallied.
