The historical Pumphouse Bar and Restaurant, once known as the “Pump Station” was utilised by the Hydraulic Power Company between 1891 - 1975 to provide power for purposes such as wool presses, wharf cranes and early lifts – including those of the Queen Victoria Building. Today the heritage-listed Pumphouse is the perfect venue to wind down on its sun drenched lounges and enjoy a cocktail, the house-brewed Thunderbolt boutique beer or a glass of wine. Boutique beer is a specialty - the Pumphouse features an extensive choice of over 100 beers from around Australia and the rest of the world. The Pumphouse also offers a fantastic wine list, delicious tapas menu and wood-fired pizzas.
 
The Pumphouse is perfect for bespoke events and private functions with a capacity of 400 cocktail style. With high ceilings, exposed brick and original pumps the Pumphouse has an amazing atmosphere and can be themed and transformed depending to wow your clients.
